With a modest middle class home that jumps to over $5K. If I put a bathroom and office in the barn, the barn jumps up to the house rate.

I would think a metal framed house would be easier to insure than a wood framed as there is less fire hazard, and the construction would be tighter to withstand windstorms. I'd call an independent insurance broker -- one who represents several companies and let them go to bat for you.

I paid $16,000. The engineer signed certificate warrantees its structural against hurricanes, tornadoes and snow load.

WEBJun 10, 2018 · I would think that any walls connecting to exterior walls at 90 degrees would take the flex out. I would use furring on exterior walls. It will cost more to do full framing, but you will be able to have more insulation and a more stable interior structure. The hardest thing will be doing the windows and doors.

It is made to replace the plywood or OSB on the out side walls. I don't see foam board adding much to the stability of the wall.

I built ours out of real logs, had lumber milled off the sides which furnished me with rafters and planks. cost me about 7k for logs and sawmill work, finished house around 25 k plumbing, wiring, central heat and air get expensive. 1800 sq ft.

I know there is not much difference in quality between Kerr and Ball jars, but today we noticed that there is a Walmart caning jar (Mainstays is the brand) at $6 a dozen for regular mouth quarts and some from Better Homes and Gardens for $8 a dozen.

WEBJul 6, 2014 · Modular will be faster and probably tighter (especially if you go with a good company like Heritage Homes). Stick-built will probably be cheaper, but that's something that's usually site-specific, so you'll have to do some research on that one. Double-wide=manufactured. Modular=Stick-built in a huge factory.
