WEBDec 15, 2023 · Myself, I pretty much gave up with the high price of Dish, I went with Sling at $61 a month, Sling Blue and $21 worth of add on's. Added the Fire TV Recast where I get guides for 34 out of our 36 OTA offerings. For guides missing, METV & METV+, added Frndly TV that has all of the Weigel guides. Several DVR's, so it works for me now.

WEBMar 30, 2022 · I've had FRNDLY TV now for 3 months and I'll probably cancel it next month now that I can get H&I, Decades and ME-TV on my OTA antenna using Fire TV Recast. I also subscribe to YouTube TV which has a few networks that are also on FRNDLY. The FRNDLY guide is still not very user "friendly". The DVR interface is actually pretty good.

I also have the Fire TV ReCast (Dual tuner), so in a pinch I can record three different OTA programs.I do like the recast has it includes a free 2 week guide that I can mark to record different shows to the HDD.

WEBJul 9, 2024 · I have a Hopper 3 with a Dish Remote 54.0 and a new TCL Tv with Fire OS. I tried all the TCL and Insignia remote codes for the Dish Remote but none work. It doesn't appear that the Dish Remote 54.0 learns IR codes. Is it a reasonable plan to buy a Dish Remote 40.0 on Amazon/EBay and have it learn codes from the TCL Remote?
