WEBApr 14, 2023 · We would recommend uninstalling the Xfinity Stream App completely, and hard restarting the Fire Stick (or Fire TV) by unplugging it from the power outlet for several minutes. WEBFeb 2, 2022 · i found that the firestick has a default setting to always turn on closed caption if available on the playing video. it is under firestick>settings>accessibility>closed caption. i believe that the many people having this problem on different devices are blaming the xfinity app, when the solution is actually in the media player device.

After installing and opening the app, a message pops up telling me to upgrade the android software to 5.0 and then install the app. The android version is 5.2.9.3. Is there a fix for this?
