Christopher Columbus' house is now a history museum, displaying several of his belongings, including his drawings, journals and a portrait.

Really bland and underwhelming. Not even clear Colombus ever came here. The displays are thin on the ground and very few English explanations. Costs only €4 entry but even then you struggle to get va…Full review by Crazy_Jim_83

Lovely house, very interesting to wander round - you could spend a good couple of hours here or just have a quick visit as the price isn’t expensive. Much bigger than you might expect with an amazing…Full review by NicT

A fantastic use of a traditional house. From the moment you walk through the front door you are transported back in time following the discoveries of ancient mariners and explorers. There is even …Full review by klimaytys

Do you know a hotel or B+B nearby which allow a small poodle to stay overnight, next weekend- How far is the ferry terminal? Is it worth it to bring over a car from Fuerte??

I stayed in an apartment rented through Airbnb, which was about 10 minutes by foot away from the Casa de Colon, at the intersection of Calle Cano and Calle Mateses. The apartment has 3 bedrooms. It is owned or managed by Alvaro, in Las Palmas. He is very accommodating. You could probably stay with a poodle. There is a taxi station in Calle Malteses, 100 m away from the apartment. Depending on the traffic, it should take between 20 to 40 minutes to the ferry terminal. We prebted a car at the airport. We spent 2 days in Las Palmas and drove around the island to see every interesting sight. You cannot do that without a car. But it may be cheaper to rent a car for a few days rather than bringing one from another island. These is an Avis agency next to the private harbour, in the center of Las Palmas.
Hi, Do you know if this is close to the cruise ship ports? Just wondering if it is within walking distance, or is a taxi needed. Thanks, Renee

I bet you have to take a taxi; but there are a number of local buses available nearby. I personally use the application called whatsinport you may find on the net. This application has information about 1200 ports all over the world, including the Las Palmas Gran Canaria - with a map as well! The port is close to Parque de Santa Catalina where you also find a huge shopping centre called CC el Muelle
