The castle is well kept and striking from the outside with information boards. Staff were friendly and knowledgable and a film was playing to give a brief history of the place. We then walked around …Full review by heath922

Access to the castle is via a made pathway that is rather steep just before you reach the entrance but there are no steps. However once you reach the entrance the is a short rather steep section to enter the castle and then unfortunately any further access would be problematic for a wheelchair user or pram/stroller as there are various areas of steps to negotiate, depending on which area of the castle you wished to see. So unfortunatelynot really that wheelchair user friendly.

Q:
Bit confused by reviews/answers on here relating to dogs! Are they allowed in the castle itself or just in the grounds?
A:
In the grounds
Q:
Do you have a cafe at the castle? Do you have a gift shop at the castle?
A:
No coffee shop there but there are plenty nearby. There is a little gift shop and my girl got a nice plastic sword from there. It is only a very small place best in mind, but well worth the visit.
