Biltmore Village grapples with impact of Hurricane Helene, while business owners work to rebuild
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Around four days after Hurricane Helene swept through Asheville, business owners in the Biltmore Village area are working to rebuild. One business owner, Sam Souhaim, said he lost around $350,000 worth of merchandise swept away by the flooding. That number also doesn't include the cost of damage to the building.

Biltmore Village, usually filled with people shopping and touring the streets, now looks like a flooded ghost town after Hurricane Helene swept through the area. The Swannanoa River flooded everything in its path, making the area completely unrecognizable.
The Swannanoa River may be receding, but it’s miraculous how far the flood waters reached out of its banks in Asheville.
While the damage to the mansion itself isn't yet known, the nearby Biltmore Village was heavily damaged by floodwaters.
