Though Cher and Sonny Bono’s marriage lasted less than a decade, their musical hits endured. Yet Cher details in her new memoir that the success of her creative partnership with her late husband wasn’t equally shared.

Under a section titled "Author's Note," Cher wrote that the book, "Cher: The Memoir, Part One, " is based on her "sometimes imperfect" memory, and then mentioned her son Chaz Bono, whom she share d with her late ex-husband Sonny Bono.

In 1972, Sonny Bono told Cher he “seriously thought” about how he’d kill his then-wife, and how he’d parlay his infamy into a new career.

The pair met when she was 16 (claiming to be 18) and he was a 27-year-old divorcé and moved in together. His songwriting talents ("I Got You Babe," "The Beat Goes On") coupled with her voice and fashion sense made them superstars.

Cher turned to a funny source when her marriage to Sonny Bono went south. The "Believe" singer, 78, revealed that she turned to comedienne Lucille Ball for relationship advice in her new book, Cher: The Memoir,
