Ausar Thompson yet to be cleared for training camp practices as he recovers from a blood clot, Detroit Pistons president Trajan Langdon said Monday.

Detroit Pistons small forward Ausar Thompson is being held out of contact drills at the start of training camp after having a season-ending blood clot during his rookie year. Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon said Thompson is working through a medical process with the NBA and National Basketball Players Association.

The Cavs had no key losses from last year’s squad, with the top 10 players in minutes all returning. They also are one of the few playoff teams that can plausibly say they can get contributions from a rookie (20th pick Jaylon Tyson looked good in summer league).

Detroit Pistons on Monday announced their full 2024 training camp roster, and it includes four players the team hadn't previously confirmed publicly.

Ausar Thompson remains out as the Detroit Pistons begin training camp, and while he remains as positive as ever, updates are sparse. Thompson is still working through an NBA program and protocol with the league and NBA Players Association to get fully cleared to return to full-contact and 5-on-5 work.

Ausar Thompson's rookie campaign with the Detroit Pistons ended prematurely because of a blood clot. Now, he and the team are waiting to find out when he can take the court for his sophomore season.

The Pistons have cleared Thompson for non-contact drills as he works through the NBA and NBPA's medical process.
