Arizona could be headed toward an unprecedented government shutdown over a stalemate on the state’s budget. The Arizona Senate negotiated its $17.6 billion budget with Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ), approved it,

Arizona faces a potential government shutdown as the House and Senate disagree on the budget, despite the House passing a stopgap measure.

Much of state government would shut down if Hobbs doesn't sign a new budget before the start of a new fiscal year on July 1.
