Former Liverpool midfielder Jermaine Pennant believes Harvey Elliott's versatility has hindered him from nailing down a regular first-team spot at Anfield. The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly interested, after making just two Premier League starts last term.

Elliott opened the scoring in style in the fifth minute when picking up a loose ball on the edge of the Germany penalty area and firing a smart finish into the bottom corner. The ex- Fulham star also played a key role in the Three Lions’ second with an excellent pass, and his performance was another which caught the eye.
