ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Officials release the name of the man killed in a shooting Friday near a liquor store on Rockford’s west side. Randy Johnson, 30, was one of two men shot around 10 p.m. Sept. 28, at MaxMart, 922 Kilburn Avenue, according to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.

Rockford Police arrested Murphy Doss, 51, for allegedly shooting two men, one fatally, at a MaxMart on Friday night. Around 10:08 p.m., officials responded to the MaxMart at 922 Kilburn Avenue to find 34-year-old and 30-year-old victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the Rockford Police Department, 51-year-old Murphy Doss of Rockford was arrested on murder charges, as well as charges for attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon after a shooting Friday night on the city's west side.
