Digest more
Lewis Pullman is set to join the cast of the upcoming Spaceballs 2, where he will play the son of his real-life father Bill Pullman ’s character, Lone Starr. Yesterday, 98-year-old comedy legend Mel Brooks announced his personal involvement in the long-awaited sequel to his popular Star Wars spoof.
This time he’ll just be acting, though, with Josh Greenbaum ( Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar) directing from a script by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad. Gad is also expected to star, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.
According to Deadline, Pullman is also set to return in Spaceballs 2, along with Rick Moranis, who played Spaceballs ' villainous Dark Helmet. The role would mark Moranis' return to live-action films after a hiatus of 28 years. (Moranis did do voice work, like Brother Bear, as well as TV work during this time.)
The 98-year-old Mel Brooks will reprise his role of Yogurt in the upcoming sequel to 'Spaceballs' for Amazon MGM Studios.
