Thousands of soldiers wearing uniforms from the Revolutionary War era to the present, dozens of tanks, military flyovers, parachute jumpers and a special firework display will fill the streets and skies of Washington,
The parade is expected to include about 6,600 soldiers, 50 helicopters and 60-ton M1 Abrams battle tanks, as well as possibly 200,000 attendees and heightened security to match.
"It's really fun, and honestly nerve-wracking," said Jonas Chu, an armored vehicle driver who will appear in the Army's 250th anniversary parade.
