Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims left Wednesday's practice, according to media members in attendance.
In Bonitto’s first season under the new regime, Grinch dropped him into coverage on over a quarter of his snaps to protect his body. He weighed 225 then, and staff felt he lacked the strength to mash for a full game against 300-pound linemen.
Throckmorton was cut on Tuesday in a surprise move from the team. This presumably means that backup offensive tackle Frank Crum is now safe. The Broncos are able to carry three backup offensive tackles after Matt Peart demonstrated in preseason that he is also capable of filling in at guard.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Two-time All-Pro kick returner and rising wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. left the field midway through the Denver Broncos' practice Wednesday and coach Sean Payton said the third-year pro was being evaluated for a groin injury.
From 2020 to 2024, 33 players were the most that Denver carried over on the initial 53-man roster year-to-year. That spanned from 2020 to 2021 and from 2021 to 2022. When Payton took over in 2023, only 27 players carried over from the year prior. That number climbed to 30 for Payton's second year as head coach.
Denver waived Audric Estime, a fifth-round draft pick in 2024, and Blake Watson, who joined the team as an undrafted free agent in 2024. After suffering a PCL strain in the team's preseason finale, Watson received an injury settlement.
Denver Broncos quarterback Sam Ehlinger has landed on the team's practice squad, although he turned down multiple offers to make another team's 53-man roster.
