Department of Justice lawyers have put forth possible actions for Google's antitrust violation conviction, including splitting the company apart.

The search giant has highlighted its major investments in Chrome and Android, claiming these products offer consumers free access to the web and Google services. The company warns that splitting up Chrome or Android could disrupt their business models, raise device costs, and weaken their ability to compete with Apple.

The DOJ filing then quotes the court's findings that Google's control of the Chrome browser with Google Search set as the default on Android devices “significantly narrows the available channels of distribution and thus disincentivizes the emergence of new competition.”
