Kosovo's ruling Vetevendosje party is on track to come first in a parliamentary election on Sunday, but it will need to negotiate a coalition with other parties to form a government, exit polls and party vote count showed.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s leftist party won the most seats in the parliamentary election, but was left without a majority in the house, forcing it to look for an ally to form the next government,

Vetevendosje won 41.3% of votes with 88% of ballots counted, official results from the election commission showed. The opposition Democratic Party of Kosovo was second with 21.8% and the Democratic League of Kosovo party had 17.8%.
