Two California Republican state lawmakers launched a campaign Wednesday to place a measure on the 2026 ballot that would require voter identification and proof of citizenship at the polls.

Because the state has been issuing Real ID-compliant licenses since 2018, it’s understandable that some people have forgotten they went through the process.

One of those bills would make California the first state in the country to ban law enforcement officers at all levels from covering their faces during operations, including immigration raids.

“You can only have a driver’s license in one state at a time.” So don’t renew that California license, but switch gears and get that state-issued ID here from the DMV.
