Heading into the season, Paige Bueckers was the unanimous prediction for rookie of the year. The Dallas Wings guard was the clear No. 1 pick in the draft, and some WNBA talent evaluators see her as a potential MVP- or Hall of Fame-level player.
The Dream announced the initiative Wednesday. "Pay Some Respect to Women's Sports" will be emblazoned across center court for the Dream's home opener against the Indiana Fever. The game takes place Thursday at State Farm Arena. Afterwards, the court will be donated to a local youth organization.
The Fever suffered a one-point home loss to the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday and now visit them Thursday in each team’s very next game.
Stephanie White’s Indiana Fever secured an 81–76 win in their second matchup against the Atlanta Dream at State Farm Arena. Compared to Tuesday, the Fever’s defense looked much sharper. After the game, White reflected on matchups against Dream that always stay close until the final minutes.
Atlanta Dream head coach Karl Smesko is highly optimistic about what this team can accomplish despite being 1-2.
