The crew of a Las Vegas-bound Southwest Airlines plane flying out of Hollywood Burbank Airport on Friday responded to two onboard traffic alerts, which led to staff injuries, airline representatives said.

Passengers on a Southwest Airlines jet described an unsettling drop Friday on a flight from Hollywood Burbank Airport to Las Vegas that injured two flight attendants. Southwest Airlines flight No. 1496 departed just before noon from Burbank to Las Vegas.

Passengers said the pilot of a Southwest Airlines flight had to "dive aggressively" in order to avoid a midair collision over Burbank.
