Hours before Milton made landfall on Florida's west coast, many were caught by surprise when the hurricane's outer bands spawned deadly tornadoes hundreds of miles away.

The Florida National Guard was in Flagler County checking on residents and warning them about the potential of increasing floodwaters. Out at Flagler Beach, it appears that part of the roof of the Flagler Beach Visitor Center was damaged during Hurricane Milton. It appeared that the building's roof was damaged during the storm.

Six to eight buildings in the Banana River Square plaza sustained moderate to major roof damage, and families have potentially been displaced as a result of the possible tornado that formed from Milton's eastern outer bands, Cocoa Beach Police said.
