Met Office weather forecasters have told millions of Brits to prepare as several amber and yellow weather warnings are in place for serious thunderstorms this weekend

By midweek, the Met Office has forecast that there is likely to be a mix of sunshine and showers, particularly wetter in the north and east, with more dry weather in the south and southwest.
The UK has a notably different climate compared with just a few decades ago, the Met Office says.
