The risk of scattered storms for Acadiana should be a little lower compared to previous days Sunday into Monday, but higher rain chances and more heavy storms expected for most of the coming week.

At least three tornadoes and possibly four are suspected to have touched down in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley on Monday evening and another possible tornado hit in Hot Spring County, according to the National Weather Service.

Severe storms are expected to erupt across a wide swath of Texas late Monday — from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to East Texas.

The overall flooding threat has decreased with lower rainfall amounts forecasted but most could see 1 to 2 inches of rain from Sunday through Wednesday morning.
