JEREZ, Spain (Reuters) -Gresini Racing's Alex Marquez claimed his first MotoGP race victory at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday to snatch the championship lead from his elder brother Marc, who crashed early in the race and finished 12th.

Alex Marquez has not won a Grand Prix since the Moto2 Grand Prix in the Czech Republic in 2019. The Spaniard finally returned to the top step of a Grand Prix podium after winning his home race for BK8 Gresini Racing.
