Leroy Sané answered critics by scoring two goals as Bayern Munich routed Hoffenheim 5-0 to restore its four-point lead in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool have been among the Premier League sides credited with an interest in the former Manchester City man as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, and it appears that Sane is no closer to signing a new contract.

Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané scored twice in the 5-0 thrashing of Hoffenheim on Wednesday but a new contract is still not guaranteed. The 29-year-old Germany player has been inconsistent for the Bundesliga leaders since joining from Manchester City in 2020 and his current deal runs out in June.
