The Burmese python has been wreaking havoc across the Florida Everglades as it slithers its way north into new territory.

We collected some of the wildest photos from the Florida Python Challenge, held annually to help conserve native critters.

The Florida Python Challenge is a 10-day competition to remove invasive Burmese pythons. The competition raises awareness of the threat these snakes pose to the Everglades ecosystem.
