Vice President Kamala Harris tried to allay disappointment and offer words of empowerment to hundreds of supporters as she conceded the presidential election Wednesday as some of her backers wiped away tears while she spoke.

PBS News Hour’s Laura Barrón-López reported that the Harris campaign spent Election Day talking to radio stations in swing states and visited the Democratic National Committee headquarters to thank volunteers.
