On Friday, the three-time Grand Slam champion had her back turned against the wall and was inches away from exiting Berlin in the quarterfinal stage when Rybakina went 6-2 up in the third-set tie-break.

Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka staged a “crazy comeback” when she saved four match points before beating Elena Rybakina 7-6 (6), 3-6, 7-6 (6) in the quarterfinals of the Berlin Open tennis tournament.

In the third-set tie-break, Rybakina opened a 6-2 lead. In the ninth point, Sabalenka's return hit the net and landed in the Kazakh's side of the court. The top seed then also won the next five points to complete a stunning comeback and win after saving four match points.
