Have you bought a video game through GameStop online? Well you may be owed cash or credit. A recent $4.5 million class action lawsuit settlement filed in the New York State Supreme Court claims that some customer’s personal information was disclosed to Facebook without consent.

GameStop Corp. has agreed to a $4.5 million class-action settlement following accusations that it shared personal customer information without consent. The video game retailer has been battling allegations of violating federal privacy laws through the use of tracking technology on its website since 2023.

GameStop denies it violated any law but has agreed to the settlement "to avoid uncertainties and expenses associated with continuing the case."
