For North Carolina Gov.-elect Josh Stein, growing the state's already-buzzing economy won't be as straightforward as it seems.

North Carolina's Governor-elect, Josh Stein, was officially sworn in as the state's 76th governor on Jan. 1. He was joined by his wife and family for the New Year's Day ceremony, where he vowed to support the Constitution and laws of both the United States and North Carolina and to faithfully perform the duties of his office.

Stein has been the attorney general for the past eight years, following Cooper in the elected law-enforcement post that Cooper himself had held for the 16 years previous.

The work ahead of us is significant, but the time is now to build a safer, stronger North Carolina," Governor Josh Stein said in part.
