Northern Lights may be putting on a show over the weekend for the northern areas of the country. The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has issued a Geomagnetic Storm Watch for the northern hemisphere for October 3rd through the 5th.

The sun is sending a slew of activity to Earth this week — and that could mean strong displays of the aurora, also known as the northern and southern lights. For prime northern lights viewing in the United States,

SWPC has also widened the time period in which they feel we could have a geomagnetic storm producing Northern Lights. The stronger the geomagnetic storm is, the farther south the Northern Lights can be seen.
