One of Duke’s incoming freshman is out for right now says Jon Scheyer. On Friday, Scheyer shared an update on Patrick Ngongba. He said that he is currently “out for the time being” ahead of the Blue Devils’ season.

Ngongba, who played alongside fellow Duke rookie Darren Harris at Paul VI Catholic in Virginia, missed nearly all of his senior season with a right foot injury. Scheyer said the Blue Devils don't have a timeline for Ngongba's return, but they want to "get him right as quickly and as soon as possible."

Duke is practicing without Patrick Ngongba, one of its star freshman recruits, early in the preseason while the 6-11 center rehabs a left foot injury. There is no timeline for his return.
