Ryanair, Europe’s biggest airline, is going after unruly passengers on its flights and has filed for €15,000 ($15,400) in damages from a passenger who disrupted a flight last year.

Ryanair has launched a £12,500 legal claim against a passenger whom the airline alleges disrupted a flight to the Canary Islands last year.

Ryanair has filed legal proceedings against a passenger it says disrupted a flight and forced it to be diverted, and is seeking 15,000 euros ($15,500) in damages, the Irish airline said on Wednesday.

Ryanair has announced that it has initiated court processes against a passenger who forced a flight to divert on April 9, 2024, which was subsequently delayed overnight, causing 160 passengers to miss out on a part of their holidays.

Ryanair has filed a claim for over €15,000 in damages against a passenger who allegedly disrupted a flight from Dublin to Lanzarote.
