Issa Rae is standing on business, and quite frankly, her business is doing well whether or not you subscribe to it. The Insecure star canceled her previously scheduled sold-out show at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts following news of the newly elected chairperson.

Rae made the announcement about the event, which had been due to take place on 16 March, on her Instagram story. The John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, to give the venue its full name, has a mission statement to present classical and contemporary music,
