Southwest Airlines is now offering redeye flights to passengers. The Dallas-based airline announced that the first redeye flights touched down on Feb. 14. Southwest operates five redeye flights on the following routes:

The company said the cuts, the first round of broad layoffs in the airline’s 53-year history, would affect mostly corporate employees.

Southwest had the equivalent of 72,450 full-time employees at the end of 2023. With cuts focused on corporate workers, the layoffs are sure to be felt in Dallas, which is home to the company's headquarters at Love Field.
