As fall camp draws to a close for Barry Odom and Purdue football, the Boilermakers are becoming well-versed with their season opening opponent, Ball State, getting a head start on week one preparation.

Purdue coach Barry Odom has named Ryan Browne his starting quarterback, but he's more excited about the health of the room overall.

Purdue has announced its team captains for the 2025 college football season. The Boilermakers hit the field on Saturday, Aug. 30 against Ball State.

Defensively, defensive end CJ Madden is the lone returnee who will be a captain, sharing duties with transfer cornerbacks Tony Grimes and An'Darius Coffey along with transfer linebacker Mani Powell. The team voted on captains, who were named Thursday evening, Purdue head coach Barry Odom said.
