The Newport, Maine, native grew up a Boston Celtics fan. With the NBA releasing its schedule for the 2025-26 campaign, it was revealed that Flagg and the Mavericks will face the Celtics twice in the final two-plus months of the regular season.

First overall pick Cooper Flagg has yet to play an official game for the Dallas Mavericks. He played in two Summer League Games, but his first real NBA game is expected to be on October 22nd against the San Antonio Spurs. And yet, ESPN is already predicting Cooper Flagg's departure from the Mavs.
