East Hampton police are responding to a reported threat at East Hampton Middle School. In emails obtained by News 8, East Hampton Superintendent Timothy M. Van Tasel said police are responding to the middle school but did not provide any additional information.

Police initially responded to a threat at the middle school, according to communications sent to parents and obtained by FOX61. While officers searched the middle school, the high school was reportedly placed under a "red alert" while the elementary schools were under a "yellow alert."
