Pat McAfee is set to face "The Ring General" Gunther at WWE Backlash on May 10. The challenge was made live on WWE's Monday Night Raw, where McAfee, standing atop the announcers' table, accepted the proposal from Manager Nick Aldis, who was filling in for Raw GM Adam Pearce, saying:

WWE Raw commentator Pat McAfee wants more of Gunther and he's going to get him at Backlash next month in St. Louis.

Rumors are going around that the former World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, could be fired from WWE Raw, and fans are wondering whether that’s possible. These speculations seemed to have surfaced as Michael Cole demanded Gunther’s release following The Ring General’s attack on Cole and his commentary partner Pat McAfee on this week’s Raw.
