Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who cancelled his political programmes in poll-bound Maharashtra Sunday to review the Manipur situation, held another meeting Monday with security officials in North Block.

According to the information released, Shah, with the senior officials for the second consecutive day, deliberated over the volatile situation in the state.

Amid escalated violence for the past week in Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday chaired a high-level meeting and reviewed the security situation in the state with senior officials, sources said.

Manipur has been on a boil for the past few days as the state continues to grapple with violence and unrest; an indefinite curfew has been imposed in Imphal and internet has also been suspended to ensure peace and calm is restored.
