The Mets revamped their bullpen by sending down José Castillo and Richard Lovelady for top prospect Jonathan Pintaro.

Glacier Range Riders president Chris Kelly knew a Mets scout had traveled to watch Pintaro make a Pioneer League start last June, and that the Mets were interested in potentially purchasing his contract, but by the time the third inning arrived, the scout saw enough to sign him mid-game.

The Mets went a few months without needing to make any pitching transactions. They sure are making up for it now.

Coming off a dreadful night for their major league bullpen and their tenth loss in eleven games, the Mets are set to make a relatively surprising move in calling up right-handed relief pitcher Jonathan Pintaro from Double-A Binghamton, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic.
