Universal Orlando's Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster will close in 2025 for a new experience. The ride lets guests choose music during the journey.

Though Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit won’t close for over two months, the construction walls are likely up already so crews can move in construction equipment and start preparing for demolition.

The ride also was known for its dramatic 17-story, straight-up lift hill right out of the loading station. An earlier announcement indicated that Rockit would close in September.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit opened in 2009 and allows guests to pick a song that they want to hear as they experience a climb toward the sky at a 90-degree angle with speeds topping out at 65 mph.

The area is now home to part of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster, which is set to close in August to be replaced by an as-yet-unspecified new attraction.
