Santa Fe police say a man living on the streets chose a local Walmart as his home for the holidays — eating, drinking and unwrapping gifts in the form of unpaid merchandise long after employees went home.

Joseph Gonzales, 50, was booked in Santa Fe County jail on counts of attempted murder, aggravated battery and others. Police allege he knew the victim.
