Tropical Storm Chantal is aiming for the South Carolina coast and is forecast to turn Northeast on it's track through North Carolina. Sunday becomes cloudy across the Piedmont Triad with scattered showers possible early morning.

Tropical storm warnings have been extended up to Surf City, North Carolina, as Tropical Storm Chantal is offshore from the southeastern U.S. on Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center.The storm has maximum sustained winds of up to 50 mph and is moving north at just 8 mph.

Tropical Storm Chantal formed on Saturday as it slowly moved in the Atlantic toward the Carolinas, according to the National Weather Service.
