The president of Serbia (Serbian: Председник Србије, romanized: Predsednik Srbije), officially styled as President of the Republic (Serbian: Председник Републике, romanized: Predsednik Republike) [2] is the head of state of Serbia. The current office holder is Aleksandar Vučić.

Prior to 1974, Serbia's head of state was the speaker (president) of the Serbian parliament. [1] [2] [3] [4] The President of the Republic (Predsednik Republike, Председник Републике) is directly elected to a five-year term and is limited by the Constitution to a maximum of two terms.

Aleksandar Vučić. President of the Republic of Serbia. He was born on March 5, 1970, in Belgrade. In 1988 he graduated from “Zemunska gimnazija”, and from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, in 1994. He joined the Serbian Radical Party in 1993.

In 2017, Vučić was elected president of Serbia. He was re-elected in 2022. During his tenure as president, Vučić initiated Open Balkan, an economic zone of Balkan countries intended to guarantee "four freedoms", and signed an agreement in September 2020 to normalize economic relations with Kosovo.

Aleksandar Vučić (pronounced [aleksǎːndar ʋǔt͡ʃit͡ɕ], born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician. He has been the President of Serbia since 31 May 2017. He is also the chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). Before he became president, Vučić served as Prime Minister of Serbia from 2014 until 2017.
